Announcing the 2021 Hometown Hero Award Recipient

After numerous great submissions, we proudly selected Brandi Nunnery as All-American Pest Control’s 2021 Hometown Hero Award winner. Brandi is a literacy coach and educator at Crieve Hall Elementary School.

Principal Dr. Nate Miley nominated Brandi for her selflessness in the way she pivoted during the pandemic. When COVID-19 shut down schools in March 2020, she created a virtual classroom on Zoom that taught writing and enabled students to share their written stories and news articles with one another. The virtual class reached students at Crieve Hall Elementary School, students from other schools in the Metro Nashville area, and out-of-state students.

The Hometown Hero Award was created to honor those who make Middle Tennessee a better place, and that’s exactly what Brandi does.

“Brandi is the perfect example of a local hero, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to receive our third annual Hometown Hero Award and 10 years of complimentary pest control service,” said All-American Pest Control President Erin Richardson. “As a mom to school-aged children, it means so much to me to see Brandi continue to give of herself and serve the students and teachers in our community. She represents all the teachers who found creative and new ways to help keep children inspired to keep learning during such difficult times.”

To celebrate her commitment to her community and local school system, we rewarded Brandi with 10 years of complimentary pest control, including ant, spider, tick, and termite protection, mosquito reduction, and yard treatment services.

To top it all off, we surprised Brandi with the award at her school for Teacher Appreciation Week. We presented her the Hometown Hero Award in front of her students and colleagues, and we all had a blast!

“We just purchased a new home and are overjoyed knowing it will be protected from pests for the next decade,” Nunnery said. “While I may have received this amazing honor, my students and fellow colleagues deserve a special shout-out as well for how they continued their dedication to education during the pandemic.”
